When removing asbestos from your home, you are allowed to remove up to 10m² yourself.  However, some State & Territory Legislations vary and it is best to check with your local Worksafe Office before commencing your removal project as some Legislations have provision for you to remove an unlimited amount as long as it is handled in accordance with all of the Occupational Health & Safety regulations.

When they say ‘yourself’ this means that you can get someone else to help you but as long as you are not paying them to help you or you have not engaged there services for the purpose of assisting you with the removal process, you are compliant.  As soon as you pay them for there assistance, then they must have an asbestos removal licence.
